Intention
Firstly, we are championing creativity, we understand it is imperiled, we will not let its importance be diminished. The importance of creativity is not guaranteed, it ebbs and flows within economic, technological and societal constraints, it is our intention to create space for it to flourish.
Secondly it is time to change how we consider technology; it is a simple but important reversal of our previous approach.
Technology’s impact on society
becomes
Society’s impact on technology
Technology is not an autonomous force, its progress is not inevitable or already written, it is subject to our desires and direction.
The structure
Julie Samuels FRSA, representing the UK and Europe, and Zoë Camper FRSA, representing the Americas, are recommitting to a refocused mission. The work is driven by their passion and interests reflected in the above statement and will manifest in project-based activations, ongoing interactions with organizations and individuals, and initiative lead collaborations.
Our mission
Champion creativity
Objectives
- To champion creativity as a universal element for enriching life experience.
- To create an inspiring and safe place for collaborators, practitioners, and thinkers to explore societies’ impact on and use of technological advancements.
- To generate real and virtual connectedness and inspire others.
Context
To be connected we need to be separate first; we have no political, religious or government association, none. While we are both RSA Fellowship Councilors our thoughts and actions are our own.
